    Davos, Switzerland (26 January 2018) — Leaders of the Western Balkan countries agreed at a conference which took place at the 18th World Economic Forum in Davos that this year is one of the key years for the European perspective of the region and that higher level of mutual understanding is a precondition for the progress of the Western Balkans.

    The closed conference, attended by Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković, presidents of tSerbia and Kosovo, Aleksandar Vučić and Hashim Thaci, prime ministers of Albania and Macedonia, Edi Rama and Zoran Zaev, and Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić, stressed that the EU strategy for the Western Balkans, which is expected to be presented in early February, is a solid confirmation of the European perspective of the region.

    The conference was also attended by member of the Steering Committee and SEF President, former Foreign Minister of Norway Borge Brende, EU Enlargement Commissioner Johanes Hahn, Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov and UN Under-Secretary for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman.
