Podgorica, Montenegro (24 April 2015) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Information Society and Telecommunications Vujica Lazović hosted earlier today US Ambassador to Montenegro Margaret Uyehara.
DPM Lazović pointed out that traditionally good relations and cooperation between the two states should be further improved in all areas, especially in the area of cyber security, given this area is extremely important for the maintenance of the overall security.
He referred to some very good examples of cooperation with companies from the United States, hoping that such cooperation in the coming period is to be resumed.
“Montenegro has devoted considerable attention to the development and advancement of information and communication technologies, recognising it as one of the most important economic resources. International valuation of the national .me domain, with DoMen consortium, where GoDaddy from the United States plays a leading role, testifies to that fact.” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasised.
The newly appointed US Ambassador stated that the main goal of her mission is to boost investments in Montenegro. In her words, extraordinary cooperation between the two countries can be achieved in education, training programmes and intellectual property protection.
