    PR ServiceMinister of Foreign Affairs Srđan Darmanović paid an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on 24 and 25 July 2017, at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak. During the visit, Minister Darmanović also met with Chairman of the Presidency Dragan Čović, members of the Presidency Bakir Izetbegović and Mladen Ivanić, as well as members of the Collegium of the Parliamentary Assembly.

    Ministers Darmanović and Crnadak signed an agreement between the Government of Montenegro and the Council of Ministers of BiH on the co-location of diplomatic and consular missions, which will contribute to rationalising the costs and efficiency of the functioning of the diplomatic and consular missions of the two countries, which once again confirms the high level of good neighbourly relations.

    During the meeting between Minister Dramanovicć and his interlocutors, he expressed satisfaction with the quality of relations between the two countries, which shows a very intense political dialogue, as well as substantive cooperation in all areas. They positively assessed the dynamics by which the current bilateral issues are resolved and agreed that the two states will continue to build good relations on the basis of good neighbourly relations, friendship and mutual respect.

    Since Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina are committed to regional cooperation and faster and more progressive progress on the European path, the meeting has expressed the conviction that joint efforts, in the forthcoming period, will further improve bilateral relations through new models of regional and economic integration. Minister Darmanović reiterated Montenegro’s readiness to provide support and exchange knowledge and experience in the integration process, not only with Bosnia and Herzegovina, but with all countries in the region that show interest in this.

    The officials praised the efforts to strengthen the legal framework for the cooperation of the two countries through the signing of new agreements, and pointed out the need for strengthening economic cooperation, as there are many potential for this, especially in the fields of tourism, transport and energy.
