On the first day of participation at the Munich Security Conference, Defense Minister Predrag Bošković spoke with the newly appointed commander of the US Army in Europe, General Colonel Christopher Cavoli. Minister Bošković and General Colonel Cavoli have pointed out that cooperation between Montenegro and the United States of America is great and content and that the two countries carry out activities in accordance with existing cooperation programs. Bošković stressed that full Montenegrin membership in the Alliance requires adequate contribution of our country to the collective security system, and has apostrophized the fact that Montenegro consciously and in line with its capacities contributes to the provision of international peace and stability. In this connection, General Cavoli stressed out that the US Army will continue to strongly support the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Montenegro in the field of training and exercise activities as well as in the overall development of the Montenegrin defense system

Minister Bošković also met with the Defense Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr Radmila Šekerinska Jankovska. On that occasion, the Minister underlined that Montenegro would stress the importance of joining the Republic of Macedonia to the Euro-Atlantic community, bearing in mind the long-standing Euro-Atlantic ambitions of the Republic of Macedonia and their commitment to full membership in NATO. Minister Bošković expressed his conviction that the integration of the countries in the region is the best solution both for the stability of the Western Balkans and for the security of Europe as a whole. The Ministers expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation of the two Ministries and the two Armed Forces, and agreed that active participation in regional initiatives would guarantee a stable and prosperous region.

The Munich Security Conference (MSC) represents the largest and most unprofessional international conference on security policy. In the past five decades of operation, the Munich Security Conference has become the most important independent forum for exchanging views of key decision-makers in Europe and the world on current security issues.
