Podgorica, Montenegro (22 January 2018) — Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted earlier today a delegation of the Medical Chamber of Montenegro, headed by Chamber’ Chair Aleksandar Mugoša.
Expressing full support for the activities of the new management of the Medical Chamber, as a professional organisation that performs an important function in line with public authorities, Prime Minister Marković stressed the need for a unique approach of all entities in the healthcare system and their effective cooperation in order to provide as high-quality health services to citizens as possible.
“You enjoy my full support,” said the Prime Minister, adding that the Ministry of Health is also willing to establish full cooperation with the Medical Chamber.
Medical Chamber’s management informed the Prime Minister about the previous activities and plans for overcoming the challenges caused by the blockade of the Chamber’s work in the past period. Prime Minister Marković supported the request to extend the deadline for issuing and renewing licenses to doctors until normative assumptions for this activity and other activities of the Chamber are created.
The management of the Medical Chamber pointed to several issues, such as unethical and illegal advertisements of medical services and institutions, expressing readiness to take a serious role in tackling the issues aimed at misinforming the public and causing damage to the State.
