    PR ServicePodgorica, Montenegro (3 April 2017) — Our two countries cherish good bilateral and neighbourhood relations and we belong to the world of free democratic countries, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama told the press conference following a meeting with his Montenegrin counterpart Duško Marković in Podgorica earlier today.

    There are no outstanding issues between the two countries, Prime Minister Marković pointed out, adding that a joint cabinet session will take place in Shkodra this October.

    The two officials underscored commitment to working on joint projects in economy, energy, infrastructure and tourism, as well as boosting cooperation between police authorities. In that regard, they stressed the prospective opening of a regional centre for police cooperation in Plav, Montenegro.

    They also stated that the reconstruction of the Sukobin border crossing will be addressed within regional initiatives and that this project will be further promoted at the Trieste Summit this July.

    Prime Minister Rama said he is pleased that Montenegro will become the 29th member of the Alliance, pledging Albania’s full support to Montenegro’s integration processes.

    He underlined that the Albanian minority is committed to backing up Montenegro’s EU and NATO bids, voicing appreciation for Montenegro’s protecting the rights of the Albanian minority.

    Ministers of foreign affairs of Montenegro and Albania, Srđan Darmanović and Ditmir Bushati, signed earlier today the agreement on cooperation in the field of health care.
