Podgorica, Montenegro (5 May 2016) — Earlier today, Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met with Ambassador of the Slovak Republic Roman Hloben.

PM Đukanović congratulated Ambassador Holben on his appointment, hopeful that during his mission, relations between the two friendly countries will continue to develop to mutual satisfaction and in the spirit of high-quality cooperation. In that regard, he emphasised the role the Slovak Government and its diplomacy has played in promoting Montenegro’s European and Euro-Atlantic perspective.

Ambassador Hloben voiced willingness to fully contribute to further development of relations between Montenegro and Slovakia, pledging full support to the country’s progress towards the EU and NATO integration.

Slovakia will continue to promote Montenegro as a good example in the region and beyond, said Ambassador Hloben, noting that Slovakia takes over on 1 July the EU presidency for the first time.

It was agreed that political partnership and bilateral relations between the two countries need to be further strengthened through the intensification of economic cooperation.
