Prime Minister Đukanović starts three-day visit to Azerbaijan

    Baku, Azerbaijan (17 September 2014) – Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Đukanović began a three-day official visit to Azerbaijan, at the invitation of his Azerbaijan counterpart Artur Rasizade. Upon his arrival in Baku, PM Đukanović was welcomed with full military honours at the airport “Heydar Aliyev”.

    During his visit to Baku, Prime Minister Đukanović will meet with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and other senior officials in Baku. That will be an opportunity to discuss the results of successful cooperation in many areas, and to agree on launching new projects of mutual interest, based on excellent bilateral relations between the two countries.

    Prime Minister Đukanović will also participate in the ceremony marking the “Treaty of Century” and the start of work on the Southern Gas Corridor, which construction and connecting with the arm of the Ionian-Adriatic Pipeline (IAP) will enable natural gas supply to Montenegro and connect the Western Balkans and Europe with new secure energy sources. The ceremony will be attended by heads of states or governments, and other senior representatives of the countries concerned
