20 tons of potatoes returned to Serbia

Administration for Inspection Affairs returned to Serbia in late August shipment of potatoes in the amount of 20,500 kg, due to the presence of harmful organism.

“The origin of the shipment is the Republic of Serbia. Namely, in the sample that the Phytonsanitary Inspection submitted to the phytosanitary laboratory was registered the presence of corridors beneath the surface crust and a pupa.The damage and the pupa are correspondent to the family of moths,” the statement said.
Phytosanitary inspection informed the Phytosanitary Administration about this case in order to inform the competent authorities of Serbia, in accordance with a special regulation governing the notification.
“Phytosanitary inspection will in future intensify inspection of imported consignments of potatoes,” reports the Administration.
