Additional 16.4 million Euros for Montenegro

Additional €16.4 million for the preparation and implementation of projects in transport and environment, besides existing infrastructure funds, will be allocated to Montenegro, confirmed Ministry of European Affairs after the meeting of the Steering Committee of the Western Balkans Investment Framework in Stockholm, where Montenegro was represented by the Minister of European Affairs Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic.

Two million Euros is allocated for the preparation of major projects and supervision of reconstruction of the Ratac landslide and signaling in the stations in the northern part of the Bar-Vrbnica railway.

“The EU has committed additional 5.4 million Euros for the design of the project and the assessment of the social and environmental impact of the two sections of the Bar-Boljare highway: Smokovac-Tolosi-Farmaci and Matesevo-Andrijevica. Through these funds for developing feasibility studies and preparation of major projects we will continue to work on improving the traffic network, as well as improving and safer travel conditions across Montenegro, “said the Ministry of European Affairs.

Nine million Euros is allocated for financing of the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Podgorica, which will significantly improve the environment of the capital, but also the wider region of SkadarLake and BojanaRiver.

“Money for this project will be instantly available and, together with the loan of German Development Bank will help to work quickly to implement the first phase”, announced the Ministry.
