Montenegro has met all the criteria defined by the rules of the European Union and thus provided that the security measures applicable to the Montenegrin airports are the same as those that apply to airports of EU member states, said Transport Minister Ivan Brajovic at the Ministerial meeting dedicated to strengthening the partnership of developing countries in order to build the capacity of civil Aviation, held in Indonesia.

“In the case of transit flights which start from Montenegro, there is no requirement for additional security checks of passengers and luggage. The fact that out of countries that are not members of the European Union, the project was only implemented in a small number of countries including the US and Canada, speaks volumes about the importance of the project ‘’one security control’’ and the success of Montenegro,” said Brajovic in a statement from his office.

The minister said that Montenegro, since the restoration of independence, in the short time became a member of all relevant international institutions in the field of civil aviation (ICAO, EUROCONTROL, ECAC, EASA).

Brajovic talked with Indonesian counterpart Ignasius Jonan and had a series of other bilateral meeting on the sidelines of a conference.
