Basic Court in Podgorica sentenced today an alderman of the Democratic Front in the Assembly of the Capital, Nikola Bajcetic, to three months in prison for breaking the police cordon during the demonstration held on October 17 last year.
We remind Bajcetic is accused of braking a police patrol and cordon by his car “renault” in the Boulevard Stanko Dragojevic and the Boulevard Saint Peter of Cetinje, and thus endanger the lives of protesters and police officers on October 17.
Bajcetic’s defense claimed that he rushed by car to rescue colleagues who were beaten by the police officers.
On the other hand, seven policemen during their testimony claimed that they did not notice that some of their colleagues were beating anyone and that they felt threatened when Bajcetic broke through the barricades by his car.
The Movement for Change, which member is Bajcetic, announced they would organize special press conference regarding, as they said, this shameful verdict.a
