Albania respects the agreements on borders that Montenegro signed in Vienna with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, said the President of Albania Bujar Nishani in a meeting with his Montenegrin counterpart Filip Vujanovic in Tirana.
The presidents agreed that Montenegro and Albania have no problem with the border and that excellent cross-border control was established. Nishani said he was pleased that the Montenegrin borders with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo were established without international mediation.
It was pointed out at the meeting that the relations between the two countries are eventful in all areas and that there is a possibility for improvement, especially in the economic field.
“The importance of joint infrastructure projects and the need of coordinated action are highlighted in order to provide support and assistance of the European Union under the Brdo-Brioni and the Berlin process”, it was said in a statement from the Office of the President.
Nishani said that our country has a strong support of Albania for NATO integration, saying that he expected Montenegro to recieve an invitation for membership in the Alliance until the end of the year.
Vujanovic participates in the International Peace Conference in the Albanian capital.
