Ambassador of France to Montenegro Véronique Brumeaux has paid a farewell visit to Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic today. During the meeting the ambassador said that the ratification process of Montenegro NATO accession protocol in France run smoothly and in accordance with the planned schedule.

Djukanovic thanked the ambassador for her personal contribution to development of overall relations and cooperation between the two countries.

“He expressed his satisfaction over the political contacts at a high level, as well as over the interests of French investors to invest in Montenegro. He emphasised the expectation that new opportunities for strengthening of the French-Montenegrin partnership would be open up through the new infrastructure projects, particularly in energy and tourism sectors, as well as through activating unused potentials in agriculture. A good example of such a cooperation is the wind mills in Krnovo”, the government stated.

He also welcomed the commitment of the Government of France to the European and Euro-Atlantic perspective of Montenegro and the Western Balkan countries and underlined the importance of expanding the normative basis for further strengthening of bilateral relations.

The ambassador thanked the Prime Minister, the Government and the Montenegrin administration for their cooperation and expressed satisfaction that the overall bilateral relations are dynamic not only politically, but also economically.

She also welcomed the intensive cooperation of the two countries in the field of education, internal affairs, defence and armed forces, especially in the context of the ongoing reform processes and integration path of Montenegro to membership in the EU and NATO.
