The Bulgarian Parliament ratified the Protocol on the Accession of Montenegro to NATO. In favor of it voted 149 deputies, five were against, and one refrained from voting.
Thus Bulgaria became the sixth state to ratify the accession Protocol. It was earlier ratified by Iceland, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia and Albania.
Montenegro signed the Protocol on full membership in NATO on 19 May in Brussels. It needs to be ratified by the parliaments of all 28 member countries of the Alliance.
Afterwards, Montenegro itself should do so.
