Traffic availability is one of the key challenges of tourism development and this problem can be solved only by considerate action and serious investments in infrastructure, Minister of Tourism and Sustainable Development, Branimir Gvozdenovic said.
According to him, the start of construction of the highway Bar – Boljare, plans to increase total and different capacities of airports in Tivat and Podgorica, as well as the intention to initiate the reconstruction of the Belgrade – Bar, show the seriousness of their approach to the matter.
“I am convinced that improvements can also be achieved with flexible policy in relation to low-cost and other airline companies, and we have done a great deal about that. Among the new airline, which will organize flights to Montenegro I will mention ‘Edelweiss’ from Switzerland, on the line Zurich – Podgorica and Air Moldova from Moldova, on the line Chisinau – Tivat “, Gvozdenovic said for the Belgrade daily Danas.
In addition to regular flights to Moscow, there is also a line for St. Petersburg. Also, in addition to regular flights to Rome, there will be several charter flights to Bari, Naples, Palermo and Katana.
“In addition to standard direct flights to most European capitals, I would particularly emphasize the increase of the number of passengers on the route Belgrade – Podgorica and Tivat. I would also like to congratulate Serbia for resolving similar issues more than well positioning itself as a key traffic hub in Southeast Europe, which is also in the interest of Montenegro’s tourism, “said Gvozdenovic.
He said that the preseason has been very successful and, judging by the current indicators, the results at the end of the season will be better than last year.
“It could be said that this will be the most successful tourist season. Due to the indicators for the first six months that show the growth in the number of tourists by 14 percent, we are optimistic that the rest of the season will be successful, “said Gvozdenovic.
