Codification of civil law in Montenegro will instigate confidence in the legal norms act, strengthen the independence and neutrality of the courts, it has been said at the conference “The codification of civil law in Montenegro”.

Minister of Justice, Zoran Pazin, says that one of the attributes of the Montenegrin civil law is that it is not codified in the Civil Code, unlike other countries with which Montenegro shared tradition of European continental law such as France, Austria, Germany.

“Historically, the social context of the countries that have codified civil law referred to the need to develop and strengthen national unity, strengthen the integrity between society and the state, valorize society through economic development and, in this regard, legal security” Pazin said at the conference.
