Construction of a building with 62 apartments for the needs of refugees and internally displaced persons and persons in need has begun today in Niksic.
The facility is being built within the Regional Housing Program funded by the Regional Housing Fund through the Development Bank of the Council of Europe.
Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Zorica Kovacevic said that this is the first project of the Regional Project of housing construction, worth 27 million euros.
“Today we begin the construction of a building with 62 flats in Niksic, and simultaneously we are announcing a tender for the construction of a home for the elderly in Pljevlja. Also, during the construction of 120 apartments in Podgorica, 62 apartments are planned in Herceg Novi, as well”, Kovacevic said.
She announced that a building intended for displaced and internally displaced persons at Vrela in Podgorica should be finished next month.
Kovacevic said that Montenegro will be hosting major donor conference in late June. It is expected that the conference will raise another 13 million euros.
