The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism issued the construction permit for the Moracica bridge to the Ministry of Transport, Dnevne Novine newspaper learns.
After obtaining the building permit, the implementation of the most demanding structures on the Bar-Boljare highway priority section may immediately begin. The Moracica bridge will be constructed by the investor, the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC). The construction of the bridge and the Vjeternik tunnel will be carried out in three shifts in order to finish the most demanding structures on the Smokovac-Matesevo section on time.
The Moracica bridge will be 960 meters long and the highest of its pillars will be 158 meters high. The bridge will be located between the Mrke and Klopot tunnels.
Last week, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism issued the construction permit for the Vjeternik tunnel. This facility will be built by Montenegrin construction company Bemax. The tunnel will be three kilometres long.
These two impressive structures will definitely be an example of a modern transport infrastructure in the region and beyond. Along the 41 kilometres long section, the elevation varies from 63 meters to over 1,100 meters above sea level.
The projected speed on the first section of the highway is 100 km/h and travel time between Podgorica and Kolasin will be shortened from the current hour and 30 minutes to just 25 minutes.
The works officially began on 11 May 2015 and will be completed by 11 May 2019.
