The contract to build the second block of thermal power plant has been signed in Pljevlja today.
The contract on building the second block of thermal power plant in Pljevlja, worth 324 million euros, has been signed by EPCG Executive Director Tonino Maglio, the vice president of the board of directors at Skoda Praha Mr. Martin Pohlodek, and the president of the board Skoda Praha Peter Bodnar.
Economy Minister Vladimir Kavaric says that building the second block means that Montenegro will no longer depend on import of electricity nor on weather conditions.
“We will provide work for at least another 40 years for the most important companies in Pljevlja: a coal mine and thermal power plant,” Kavaric said, noting that the special importance of the project is a heating system in town.
After signing the contract, Maglio said that the construction of another blog would improve the quality of life of Pljevlja citizens. He said he hoped all obligations under the contract would be implemented in due time.
Skoda Praha representative Peter Bodnar said that the signed document was, “the result of 1,000 hours of work.”
