CPC sued the Real Estate Administration

Montenegrin Orthodox Church (CPC) filed a criminal complaint with the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office against unknown persons from Danilovgrad Real Estate Administration, which, as stated by the CPC, without any legal basis unlawfully registered Ostrog and Zdrebanik in the name of the Diocese of Montenegro and the Littoral.

“These persons without legal basis, contrary to the Law on State Survey and Cadastre, after 2007, unlawfully enrolled 1,634,664 m² of meadows, forests and pastures, monasteries Ostrog and Ždrebanik, and 25 churches and church buildings of enormous material and cultural values in the name of the Diocese of Montenegro and the Littoral, ” said in the statement the vice President of the Council of the CPC Metropolitan, Stevo Vucinic.

He argues that the Danilovgrad Real Estate Administration, in order to veil the fact that the illegal entry was made after a referendum on independence, gave a public statement that the entry was made after exposure of cadastral documents in 1991, which is not true.

According to him, thanks to the illegal entry, Belgrade Patriarchate is acting as the owner of the property, although it was never the property of the Cetinje Metropolitan, “and even less of the Cetinje branch of the Serbian Orthodox Church”.
