The earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale shook today Montenegro, the Hydrometeorology and Seismology Department announced. The earthquake occurred near Plav. The local Protection and Rescue Service told the RTCG Portal that the facades and chimneys cracked on older houses. The Directorate for Emergency Situations announced that during the day they would visit the area of Plava and other municipalities affected by the earthquake .
The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the representatives of the Directorate for Emergency Situations and the Police Directorate are already active in the field in several municipalities in the northern region of the country, in order to collect information about the possible damage caused by today’s earthquake, together with representatives of local self-governments.
“So far there is no information about the earthquake causing human losses,” the MUP said.
An operation was carried out by the Directorate of Traffic for removing the traces from the road at the location of Suceska, between Andrijevica and Plav.
