Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms Sucko Bakovic filed a criminal complaint against the commander of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ) Radosav Ljeskovic on suspicion of failing to perform his official duty and obstructing the administration of justice, abusing his-position after the protests of the Democratic Front held on 24 October last year.
“After the end of the event, around 11 p.m., citizen Milorad Martinovic was driving down the Jovan Tomasevic street in his own car in the company of two friends VR and KM, when he was stopped by members of the SAJ, forced out of the car and brutally beaten by at least fourteen members of this unit. On that occasion his property have been damaged – his car had been vandalised,” it was written in the the summary of the application filed by Bakovic to Chief state Prosecutor (VDT).
The Protector added that, after the information and video recording which media showed on the event, he launched investigation procedure on his on iniciative.
