The financial statement of the Parliament showed that there was no hesitation in that institution when it comes to spending taxpayers’ money, as Dnevne Novine newspaper had earlier reported. Therefore, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) required the State Audit Institution (DRI) to check Parliament’s operations.
“What is particularly worrying is exceeding the planned limits for certain items by as much as 300%, which must not happen. We will require and recommend reviewing 2016 Parliament’s operation”, said MP Zoran Jelic (DPS) at the session of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget during the discussion on the financial statement submitted by the parliamentary service.
Aleksandar Damjanovic (SNP) is convinced that such a control would lead to improvements in the rational spending in other state bodies too.
“To be absolutely clear, I refer to the executive and judicial branches”, he said.
