The signing of the agreement between the government and part of the opposition is a positive step towards creating a favourable environment for holding of credible parliamentary elections in October, said the head of the Delegation of the European Union in Podgorica, Mitja Drobnic.
“The European Union welcomes the fact that this result has been achieved through a political dialogue, which everyone could join. In order to ensure credible elections, full implementation of electoral legislation remains crucial”, Drobnic told Radio Montenegro.
He believes that signing the agreement created many of the conditions for free and fair elections.
“However, there are other problems that should be solved. We believe Montenegro is on a right way towards this goal – free and fair elections without accusations of fraud”, Drobnic added.
