First day of Spark.me conference was visited by more than 350 participators, and the second day is proving to be very dynamic, which can be attributed to important speakers, they stated from company doMEn d.o.o., the organizer.

One of the biggest marketing conferences in South Eastern Europe is being held under the general sponsorship of Montenegrin Telekom, on May 28th and 29th in Bečići. Sara Roso, director of marketing at Automattic, opened the second day. This company had created the most popular online service for website hosting that uses WordPress platform.

Roso and her work was presented in some of the most read world magazines such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, ABC News, TIME, Businessweek, The Huffington Post, AdWeek, Advertising Age and others. She is recognized as an international lecturer and expert in the area of digital strategy, technology and communications, known for her project from 2007 World Day of Nutella, that she made in order to gather all the fans of chocolate cream in one day.

Roso spoke of possibilities opened in communication and connection.

“Connection has many forms today, especially because of the fact that we had gone digital. You can get connected with someone you have never met, through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and in that way continue to build and share the experience. In order to connect, you must have something in common, whether it is love of some activity or thing, or your desire to change the world. Connection has not changed a lot in comparison to the past expect today it is practically virtual”, Roso said.

She pointed out that wordpress.com is a great place for hosting websites or blogs, in a legal and free way.

Frank Gruber is an entrepreneur and a journalist. He is the founder of Tech Cocktail. He wanted to strengthen Chicago’s startup scene through organization of events aimed at the people involved. In time, company changed the name to Tech.Co and became a media company presenting content and organization of events for startups, enterpreneurs and lovers of new technologies, gathering million followers around the world.

Forbes Magazine named Gruber on of the most connected people in the world of technology, he was nominated as an Entrepreneur of the Year in Nevada in 2013, and has been recognized as Tech Titan by Washingtonian Magazine, three years in a row.

Gruber wrote a book “Startup Mixology: Tech Cocktail’s Guide To Building, Growing and Celebrating Startup Success”.

He gave a lot of good advice during his lecture.

“In order to found a startup, you must consider many things. To begin with, you must have a pretty good idea waiting to come alive and be passionate about it. Then you need to connect with the right people interested in financing your startup. You need to build a good team. Everything should start simple, building your brand, going public with it. Passion and the good idea are the most important, because you may find yourself taken for a year, few months or maybe even a decade”, he said.

Marvin Liao is partner in one of the most famous American startup accelerators, 500 Startups from the Silicon Valley.

Liao has spent over 10 years in one of the most famous web portals in the world, Yahoo!, where he gained valuable experience working in many positions in different sectors – sales, development, marketing. Liao is a member of board of directors and advisory boards in many tech companies, and he works as a mentor in a few startup accelerator programs in Europe, Asia, Israel and USA.

He spoke at Spark.me before.

Speaking of the future of business through the prisms of merging, he pointed to the growth of a few very big platform companies such as Amazon and Apple, and to the other hand, on many small, interesting entrepreneurial companies.

“This is the future. Many people build their portfolio of services and projects, and at some point, they can grow into companies. What is important is to connect those companies”, Liao said.

By the end of the day, former agent of British national intelligence and safety agency MI5 Annie Machon is set to speak. Andrew Song is product manager in Facebook, the most popular social network with over 1,59 billion active users on a monthly level. Hhe is an internet star and an advisor to many startups. With more than 1,7 million followers on Twitter, Veronica Belmont is one of most influential people in technology world on social networks.

Around 15h, finale of Spark.me startup competition was held. It aims to gather teams from all around Europe, and to offer them the possibility to present their startup projects to the world.

This year marked 42 record applications from 12 states. From ten best teams, last night, three made it to finale, Montenegrin Bee and Me, Drytools from Serbia, and Smart Lumies from Croatia.

The winning team will have the opportunity to participate in TechCrunch Disrupt Entrepreneurship Valley in San Francisco, from September 14th to 12th.

Spark.me is an interactive conference designed to spark the creativity of the participators, to enable them to improve their knowledge, and to help them make their business better, to learn how to create and start new business adventures.
