Report of the European Commission, in which Montenegro is best assessed so far, is recognition for the achievements that we, as the society, realized in the previous year, Social Democrats of Montenegro stated.
They said that the report represents an obligation for intensive continuation of activities and achieving measurable results particularly in terms of the rule of law and the fight against corruption and organized crime.
“Positive marks from the report provide a stimulus for the next period to continue to meet the commitments and EU standards, to the benefit of the Montenegrin citizens. Not because of the standards themselves, but due to the fact that the dynamics of the EU accession determines the dynamics of our third great objective that has to unite all progressive political forces, which we SD call, Partnership for aggressive economic development,” it was written in the statement.
The report, as they added, confirmed the commitment of the Social Democrats that dialogue through institutions of the system, and not on the street, is the only correct way to solve all the current problems.
“At the same time, by sending a clear message of our European partners that they are willing to help the dialogue, but not to interfere in the internal affairs of Montenegro, EU scattered the hopes of some political entities, who allegedly speak of rule of law. They were hoping that by inducing a new instability in country after protests, through the creation of the Macedonian scenario, they would create ambience for mediations from the side,’’ it was written in the statement.
They added that they are very proud that the EU has recognized the good results in the sectors of transport policy and information society, which, as assessed, is under successfully management of the Social Democrats of Montenegro.
