The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg said that he personally was encouraged by the progress that Montenegro has made.
“Montenegro has indeed made progress, both as regards the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary, but also modernization of the army and security services,” said Stoltenberg at a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO.
He said he would not prejudge the decision, but he felt the growing support for the invitation of Montenegro.
“Last support came from the White House, on condition that Montenegro continues to make progress in key areas. Everyone keeps asking me about Montenegro since I became secretary last fall, and I have always answered in the same way. But I hope that in early December, at the ministerial Meeting, I will be able to answer that question, “said Stoltenberg.
