Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic said he is confident that the accession of Montenegro to NATO will speed up the negotiations and membership in the European Union (EU), adding that the standards of these integration are compatible.
In honour of the National Day, July 13, Vujanovic said that it appears that Montenegro will become a member of NATO in the first half of next year.
He said that among the 28 members of the EU, 22 are NATO member. Ten of nine EU citizens live in the Alliance states.
“Anyone who is politically serious must see membership in NATO as the strongest recommendation of membership in the EU? That is why I see our membership in NATO as specifically valuable for European integrations’’ Vujanovic said in an interview the agency Mina.
