Public broadcasters should maintain the highest professional standards, and report promptly and objectively, in order to make calming effect on potential conflicts by creating a positive public opinion, said the general director of Radio Television Montenegro, Rade Vojvodic.

Opening the General Assembly of European public service, held in Budva, he said that professional standards, timely and objective reporting would be possible “only if the ideal of public service being financed by all, so no one could control it was reached.”

“Such a public service should provide to all citizens, as its founders, unrestricted access to information and knowledge through quality and diversity of content, which reflect the needs, concerns and expectations of different segments of the public, the way international standards specify it,” said Vojvodic.
