The first guests from Israel will arrive to Montenegro on 20 April on a direct flight to Tivat airport operated by Israeli tour operator Israir Airlines & Tourism. From April to October 2016, there will be 49 Israir’s flights to the airports of Tivat and Podgorica by the 172 seats Airbus A300 plane. It is estimated that about 8,400 tourists would visit Montenegrin this way.
“We are happy to announce that since the beginning of the advertising campaign in February 2016, the Israeli public has shown great interest in the packages to Budva and Becici, as well as organised trips across Montenegro. We are convinced that Israeli tourists’ arrival and stay in Montenegro will contribute to the growth of the economy of Montenegro”, said Gil Stav, vice president of marketing and sales department at Israir Group.
Since February, marketing campaign of Israir Airlines & Tourism for Montenegro has been implemented through numerous activities – published articles in leading daily media, on websites specialised in tourism, as well as through many other activities including a Facebook campaign. It will be continued in the coming period.
At the IMTM, the leading trade fair in Israel, which was held in February, Montenegro was presented as a new interesting destination for travelling.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro, and Mr. Nimrod Rinot, Honorary Consul General of Montenegro to Israel, for their support and assistance on the project of Israeli tourists and Israir’s arrival to Montenegro in the coming period”, said Stav.
“The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, in accordance with the 2020 Tourism Development Strategy, supports all activities to reduce seasonality and increase the accessibility of Montenegro as a destination”, said Olivera Brajovic, director general for tourism development and standards at the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism .
As she pointed out, the Israeli market is recognised as very interesting.
“We are confident that even better economic cooperation between the two countries will start with Israir flights. We are pleased to welcome tourists from Israel and we are convinced that they will be satisfied with the offer of Montenegro and will be happy to come back and also recommend our country to their friends and family as the right destination for holidays”, she said.
