Last year import was 5.3 times higher than export, MONSTAT official data showed. During 2014 we mostly imported food and live animals in the amount of nearly 400 million euros.
“We exported goods worthed EUR 333.2 million, 11.3 percent less compared to the same period of the previous year. Import was 1,784 million euros, and that is increase of 0.6 percent compared to 2013.” according to MONSTAT Statistics data.
The total external trade of Montenegro in the last year, according to final data, amounted to 2.12 billion euros, which indicates a decrease of 1.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
“The coverage of imports by exports was 18.7 percent and was lower compared to the same period of the previous year, when it stood at 21.2 percent,” MONSTAT released.
During 2014, we exported mostly non-ferrous metals in the amount of 71.8 million euros, as well as iron and steel in the amount of 4.5 million euros.
On the other side, the most imported products were from the sector “food and live animals” in the amount of 397.9 million euros.
In exports, the main foreign trade partners are Serbia (80 million), Italy (34.8 million), Croatia (33.1 million euros).
On the other hand, we mostly imported from Serbia (480.7 million), Greece (144.5 million) and China (132.7 million euros).
