Honorary Consulate of Montenegro has been opened in the capital of Chile San Javier today.
The reception was attended by about 70 guests. Ambassador Gordan Stojovic, first secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile, Arturo Navarro, honorary consul of Montenegro Jose Manuel Romero Tomasevic, as well as the eminent doctor emeritus Pablo Kazanegra addressed the audience.
He pointed to the importance of restoring broken family ties and connections with Montenegro, and the role of Chilean people with Montenegrin origin in the development of a very promising economic cooperation between the two countries.
As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration stated, it is estimated that there are about 7,000 Chileans originally from Montenegro.
