A camerawoman who worked for Hungary’s N1 TV station has been fired after videos showed her tripping up an older man holding a child in his arms.
She also kicked a girl running from the police at the Roeszke reception centre.
The ugly scenes happened on Tuesday as dozens of Middle Eastern refugees tried to escape police officers.
Tensions in the camp were running high for days, partly due to overcrowding.
The camerawomen, who was identified as Petra Laszlo, was filming the scene but then became involved in tripping up and kicking the refugees.
Reports say that she was fired instantly by the Hungarian TV station. A statement read that such behaviour was unacceptable and that she had lost her job.
“Today, an N1TV colleague behaved unacceptably at the Roeszke reception centre. The cameraman’s employment was terminated with immediate effect,” the TV station said.
Europe is facing a massive influx of refugees and migrants from the Middle East and Africa and it is believed that Germany alone will receive around 800,000 incomers this year.
Large numbers of refugees trying to reach the richer EU countries are travelling through the Western Balkans and Hungary.
The Hungarian parliament tightened its legislation against migrants on September 4, in response to the influx of refugees entering from Serbia.
The new law on the border regime expands the possibility of deploying the army on the borders, while illegal immigration will be punishable by up to three years in prison.
Hungary has also started to build a fence on its border with Serbia to stop the migrants entering the country. It has been widely criticized for its refugee policy.
