Montenegrin Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Igor Luksic said on “To be secure” (2BS) Forum in Budva that Montenegro is ready for a call for NATO membership. Luksic believes that it would be a mistake if the call did not arrive until the end of the year.
“Montenegro is ready for a call for NATO membership. This decision would be good for Montenegro, but also for the region. If it happens that we do not get a call, it will not impede our path towards NATO,” Luksic said in Budva speaking at To be secure (2BS) Forum at a panel on NATO.
Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vesna Pusic said that our country is absolutely ready for an invitation to the end of the year.
“The next Summit should be the Summit when Montenegro will be a NATO member,” Pusic said.
BIH Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Crnadak, said that the Alliance’s decision on admission is very important in creating a better environment for the entire region.
Budva is the host of the fifth To be secure (2BS) Forum, with the topics of security situation in the region, integration into NATO, the issue of leaving combatants on foreign battlefields, as well as relations between Russia and Ukraine.
