Demos leader Miodrag Lekic said that solving the issue of Prevlaka would now take place in a much more difficult situation.
He said that new democratic government in Montenegro, in addition to numerous other issues, now is facing the resolution of the Prevlaka issue.
Reacting to the statement of the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovic, that the issue of Prevlaka would be resolved whether through an agreement between the two countries or before the court in Hague, from the Demos say that the statement was indicative.
“So, it is useful for understanding the continuing irresponsible behavior regarding this important issue. Through this, Montenegrin public learned that they would act in the exact opposite why of what was, until yesterday, the attitude of the Montenegrin government on the joint document of the two countries as the basis for arbitration before the International Court,” says in the Demos’ statement.
They note that on “the direct negotiations right now nothing could be learned, because they did not even begun.”
“The public does not know the contents of the platform, if it at all exists for such negotiations. The Montenegrin public is not even graced with information what is the objective of the Montenegrin side in negotiations, nor it is known which arguments would be used. Continuity is just outrageous diverting attention of the public in order to hide averse, incompetence, shortly the irresponsibility before the citizens of Montenegro, in particular from the Bay of Kotor and Herceg Novi,” pointed out the Demos.
