Democratic candidate, Stevan Katic, was elected the new president of the Herceg Novi municipality with 19 votes in favor from the ruling coalition deputies and one from the opposition,.
“Although there were speculations that a part of the DF was demanding the president of the municipality to be member of the Novi list, Katic had 9 Democrats, 4 DF, 3 Nova list, 2 SNP and 1 SDP / URA votes from the ruling coalition, and one vote from the member of the Citizens List, Miso Skobalj, ” Radio Jadran reported.
As announced, the opposition delegates (DPS and SD) abstained from voting, while the Choice deputy, Dusan Radovic Kruso once more did not come to the assembly session.
Stevan Katic was born in Herceg Novi. Graduated economist, and soon to be postgraduate with master’s degree of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Novi Sad. In recent years he has been successfully engaged in private family business in tourism. He was elected on two occasions deputy at the Assembly of Herceg Novi Municipality. He is the president of the Democratic Party in Herceg Novi and member of the Presidency of Democratic Party of Montenegro.
