SDP president Ranko Krivokapic expects prime minister Dusko Markovic to start negotiations on early elections with opposition as soon as possible. After meeting with the EU Delegation in Podgorica, Krivokapic said that he expected the dialogue to start in October.
On the other side, for the leader of the Democrat Aleksa Becic, the dialogue is not a solution. He demands the fulfillment of earlier conditions, and then talks about early elections. Becic said that this party will not end the boycott of Parliament.
Krivokapic said that it was necessary to reach the solution through dialogue.
“I expect the prime minister to announce that he is ready to start a dialogue on the holding of early elections,” Krivokapic said, adding that he also expects EU assistance in that dialogue. “If they are not ready for the new elections, let them be ready for what follows,” Krivokapic said, and reiterated that, under the existing conditions, the SDP will not return to the Assembly. The European Union (EU) Delegation to Montenegro organizes meetings of the opposition leaders with the ambassadors of EU members this week.
Leader of the Democrat Aleksa Becic also talked with the Brussels ambassadors. For Becic dialogue is not a solution. He demands the fulfillment of earlier conditions, and then a discussion on early elections. His Party will not end the boycott too.
