The first Malta’s investment in Montenegro is €80m worth. In a year and a half, a windmill on the Mozura hill will be constructed, as a result of intensive talks between Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and his Maltese counterpart Joseph Muscat and very a good cooperation between the two countries.
Djukanovic said that the first €15m worth tranche had already been allocated and that everything would be completed in about a year and a half.
The administrative requirements for the project on Mozura hill have been almost completed, PM Muscat said after a meeting with Djukanovic, RTCG news portal carried.
He pointed out that Malta supported Montenegro on its path to the EU and that it would share its valuable experience during and after the integration, which is particularly important since Malta will be holding presidency of the Council of the European Union from 1 January 2017 to 30 June 2017.
“Montenegro meets the necessary requirements to be a member of the European Union appropriately and at the right pace and Malta actively supports Montenegrin aspirations for the membership. Our presidency of the Union and our engagement will help Montenegro to move closer to membership. We will also help you by sharing our experiences in the past 12 years, because when you become a member state, you will face numerous obligations, which is particularly challenging for small administrations”, Muscat said.
