President of the Political Council of the Democratic Party of Socialists, Svetozar Marovic has denied guilt before a special prosecutor today. Prosecutorial retention is determined to him and it can take up to 72 hours.
Let’s remind, Marovic has been arrested this morning by order of the Special Public Prosecutor’s Office on suspicion that he misused his official position by instigation in an organized manner.
A lawyer of Svetozar Marovic, Zdravko Begovic, told reporters that Marovic was questioned in connection with cases of Budva and that, denying guilt, he explained that he did not have any official authority to be superior to persons who are alleged to have had certain roles in this process.
“Marovic believes that what was placed in command of the Special Public Prosecutor is not verifiable, since the statements of certain individuals in this process are calculated solely in order that they avoid criminal legal liability and thus justify their freedom,” Begovic said.
Marovic’s son, Milos, is already in custody as well as Dragan Marovic’s brother, aunt Mirjana, and proceedings are conducted against his daughter Milena Marovic-Bogdanovic and Milos’ mother-in-law Dragica Popovic.
