Cooperation between defence ministries of Montenegro and Slovakia is very good, said the head of Directorate General for Defence Policy Ivan Masulovic and thanked for yesterday’s ratification of Montenegro’s NATO Accession Protocol.
Masulovic met the Ambassador of Slovakia to Montenegro, Roman Hloben and members of the Slovak expert team, security analyst from the Office of the Slovak President, Peter Bator, and deputy director of the Security Policy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Catherine Kovacov.
Masulovic thanked for the continuous Slovakia’s support to Montenegro on its path towards Euro-Atlantic and European integration.
Ambassador Hloben, as well as other members of the Slovak delegation, commended Montenegro’s progress and pointed out that significant results on the Euro-Atlantic path were achieved. The Slovak officials presented their country’s experience during the process of NATO accession and presented the future steps to be taken towards Montenegro’s membership in NATO.
The current international, political and security risks were discussed at the meeting too.
The officials agreed that only joint efforts could provide an adequate response to contemporary challenges.
It was stressed that there was a room for improving cooperation between the two countries in the field of defence, particularly through the provision of Slovakia‘s expert help to Montenegro in the process of accession to NATO.
