At the cabinet meeting on Thursday, the government decided to close Montenegrin Consulate in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration shall take the necessary measures for implementing this decision”, it was stated.
The Honorary Consul of Montenegro in the Netherlands Ben Vos was arrested in July on suspicion of money laundering and tax evasion worth €5m.
As Dutch media reported then, 60 buildings and other real estate owned by the investment company he was director of were seized.
The government also decided to open a consulate in the Moldovan capital of Chisinau.
