Ruling party elects new leadership; Montenegro honours Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic; government calls for dialogue on NATO membership.
At the constitutional session held on Tuesdsy, the main board of the rulling Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, has elected the party’s presidency. Proposed by the party’s chief, Montenegrin Prime Minister, Milo Djukanovic, 15 new members of the leadership were elected.
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic was made an honorary citizen of the Montenegro’s town of Berane on Tuesday, at a ceremony marking the day of the municipality, which was attended by Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic.
The government’s NATO Membership Council will insist on dialogue and discussion, as citizens only take as valid the facts they hear directly, the National Coordinator for NATO, Vesko Garcevic, said. He explained that increasing public support for the membership was one of the key areas within the framework of the intensified and focused talks with the Western military alliance.
