Montenegro Press Review – June 16, 2015

Montenegro to train its troops at US military college. The opposition accuses Djukanovic of deceivig the public. France praises Montenegro’s regional contribution.

The Defence Ministry said that within the defence cooperation with the US military schools, two country’s officers will attend the US War College and the Command and Staff College. Montenegrin Chief of General Staff, admiral Dragan Samardzic, stressed the importance of continuous training of officers of the Montenegrin Armed Forces at prestigious defence colleges in the world. Thus, he pointed out, the army has improved its human resources and educate future leaders for making important decisions in the time of complex and unpredictable security risks and threats.

Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic’s threats that the ministers will be held accountable if they are not implemented the Government’s programs were just a marketing gimmick, the opposition MPs claims. During the last session of the Government in Thursday, Djukanovic told it cabinet and ministars they will be personally liable if they do not fully implement the obligations from EU accession programs.

Special Envoy of the French Foreign Ministry,Alain Richard, who is paying an official visit to Montenegro, praised the country’s contribution to creating mechanisms for implementing joint projects in the region under the auspices of the European Union in the fields of transport and energy infrastructure. He especially referred to economic cooperation between Montenegro and France, emphasising the importance of development projects in the sectors of tourism and transport.
