Prosecution seeks hearing in case against royal capital’s major. Serbia, Montenegro police to start joint patrols. UN missions important for the development of military capabilities, minister says.
The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in the royal capital Cetinja initiated a hearing in the case against the mayor Aleksandar Bogdanovic and his associates for alleged abuse of office.
Directors of the Serbian and Montenegrin police signed an agreement on cooperation during the tourist season in 2015, which involves sending officers from Serbia in tourist centers in Montenegro during the summer months. From July 1 to September 1, Serbian police officers will be stationed in Budva, Bar and Herceg Novi, where they will patrol with their Montenegrin counterparts.
Participation of the Army of Montenegro in the United Nations missions is of great importance to the army, particularly to develop its capabilities, Defence Minister Milica Pejanovic-Djurisic said. She expects that UN engagement will contribute to the further improvement of the Montenegrin defense system.
