AmCham suggests new jobs for more budget revenues. Serbia to begin work on railway to Bar. Montenegrin soldiers returned from a NATO mission in Afghanistan.
The goal of the American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro, AmCham, is the creation of more new jobs, which will lead to more budget revenues. The organization said Montenegro needs new jobs and not some “ad hoc taxes rates” with short-term effect.
Work to restore the Serbian section of a railway to the Montenegro port Bar will begin this year, said Transport and Infrastructure Minister Zorana Mihajlovic on Tuesday, adding that the works would be funded through a 200-million-dollar Russian loan. At least a year of work will be needed to repair the approximately 200-km stretch, the minister said.
Montenegrin soldiers ended their three-month engagement in the new NATO non-combat mission in Afghanistan. The unit of 15 members was deployed in mission called “Resolute Support”, which started in January, after the 13-year-long ISAF mission ended in December.
