Montenegrins still divided on NATO membership. Montenegro issued red weather alert. Montenegro to open three more negotiating chapters with the EU.
A survey conducted Damar agency suggested that 37,8 per cent of Montenegrins want the country to join NATO while 24,2 per cent 20 per cent remained undecided on the issue. The survey was conducted last month, sampling the views of 1,000 people.
Since Thursday, Montenegro is on red waather alert due to heavy rain in the coastal area and the snow storms in in the north of the country. Some main roads are closed due to landslides and the towns Andrijevica, Plav and Gusinje, in the north of the country, have been hit by power cuts.
Montenegro moves closer to meeting requirements for the opening of the negotiating chapters 11, 12 and 13, relating to agriculture, food safety and fisheries, the European Commission’s officials noted at their meetings with Montenegro’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Petar Ivanovic, during his official visit to Brussels.
