We would like to see more examples like Montenegro, German FM says. The government hides research because of low support for NATO. German bank pledges support for Montenegro’s development potentials.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmier said that he considers Montenegro a success story in the region and that he would like to see more examples like Montenegro. Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Đukanovic met with German FM during his two-day official visit to Berlin. Steinmeier stressed the success of the Montenegro integration process and pledged the German government’s strong support to the country’s strategic foreign policy goals.
Communication team for NATO commissioned a survey about the support for membership in NATO to make the results available ahead of the Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic ‘s visit to NATO headquarters in Brussels in April. Confidential documents of communications team reveals that these results have never been published because they have shown that the support of citizens is extremely low.
One of Germany’s leading bank, KfW Development Bank, is willing to strongly support Montenegro’s development, the KfW’s representatives told Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic in Berlin. Dynamic development of Montenegro and its successful integration form a good basis for continuing mutual cooperation, KfW’s Director for South East Europe and Turkey ,Christoph Tiskens said.
