Representatives of 11 governments condemn attacks on human rights activist Vanja Calovic. Konik camp refugees to get a permanent accomodation. Western Balkan’s integration into EU crucial for stability of Europe
Steering Committee of the Open Government Partnership, consisting of 11 countries, is deeply concerned about the recent personal attacks on Vanja Calovic, researcher of the Independent reporting mechanism for Montenegro. “Montenegro is a country member of the Open Government Partnership, and the attacks are related to the Calovic’s work to promot open, transparent and accountable government in Montenegro,” the committee said.
Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Predrag Boskovic and Head of EU Delegation to Montenegro Mitja Drobnic laid on Tuesday a foundation stone for the construction of flats for internally displaced persons at Podgorica’s refugee Konik. The project worth 1.7 million euro implies the construction of 5 buildings with 10 apartments of various sizes.
Strengthening the rule of law, mutual cooperation and infrastructural connection of the states in the region are crucial for dynamic economic development and further progress towards European and Euro – Atlantic accession, the meeting between Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and German Ambassador to Montenegro Gudrun Stainaker emphasised on Tuesday. Ambassador Stainaker said that Germany will continue supporting Montenegro in pursuing its European agenda and that her mandate will be committed to improving and boosting bilateral relations, particularly economic ones.
