Baby’s death showes the failure of the health system, WHO says. Russia Bans Meat Imports from Montenegro. Parliament to interrogate top health officials over baby’s death.

Death of the baby from Bijelo Polje was a tragic event which demonstrated the failure of the health system, the Head of the World Health Organization in Montenegro, Mina Brajovic, said. “Mistakes happen but the one that can be prevented are difficult to understand and accept. I hope this will be a lesson to everyone,” Brajović said.

The Russian Veterinary Administration has temporarily banned the export of cattle from Montenegro to Russia because od bluetongue disease, the Montenegrin Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Petar Ivanovic said. Ivanovic said that Montenegro need to provide information about what is specifically undertaken in combating bluetongue disease.

Parliamentary Committee of Health, Work and Social Welfare unanimously decided on Tuesday to hold a control hearing of the Minister of Health Miodrag Radunovic, regarding the events in Bijelo Polje General Hospital, where five babies ha been infected with a deadly bacteria. One of them died on Sunday after it was admitted in the Clinical Center of Montenegro.
